Who we are
The Philippine Association of Realty Appraisers, Inc. (PARA) is the personal information controller for this registration. The event is co-organized with CARBAF. We follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.
What we collect
- Name (last, first, middle, suffix), email address and mobile number
- Company / bank and designation
- A live selfie taken with your phone camera, stamped with the server time and a “CARBAF 2026” watermark
- Your consent choices and when you gave them, and the time you checked in at the event
- Basic technical data to prevent abuse (a one-way hash of your network address, browser type)
Why we collect it
- To register you and confirm your email address
- To verify your identity and record your attendance at the event (the selfie)
- To prepare your badge and issue your Certificate of Attendance, and let others verify that certificate
- Only if you said yes: to tell you about future PARA events
Our basis is your consent, which you give with separate tick boxes on the registration form. You may withdraw consent at any time; this will not affect what was done before you withdrew.
Who can see it
- Authorized PARA event organizers and registration staff.
- CARBAF, as co-organizer, may receive the attendance list (name, company, designation) for event reporting. The selfie is never shared.
- Service providers that run this system for us under confidentiality: database and file storage (Supabase), web hosting (Vercel), email delivery (Resend) and anti-spam checks (Cloudflare). Some of them store data outside the Philippines.
- The public verification page for a certificate shows only your name and the event — never your selfie, email or mobile number.
How long we keep it
- Selfies are deleted 30 days after certificates are sent (or 30 days after the event if you did not attend).
- Registration, attendance and certificate records are kept for up to 3 years so certificates can be verified, then deleted or anonymized.
- Your preference for future-event updates is kept until you withdraw it.
How we protect it
Data is sent over encrypted connections. The database and the private selfie storage can only be reached by the server of this system; selfies are viewed by organizers only through short-lived links. Access is limited to authorized organizers.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access, to object, to correct (rectification), to erasure or blocking, to data portability, and to damages. You may also file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
